As a former council member in my town in the states (and the husband of a long-time school board member), I wish you all the best and many wishes for short meetings!
Listening to Louis and Rick play cowboys tickled me to no end.
You’ve got my vote! (…moving to Nottingham pending)
The one that’s stuck with me as the most universal and very simple over the years is Mark Beltzman’s ‘Talk to each other about each other’.
It seems to cut through the heady mechanics of game, removes inventing invisible stuff outside the scene (‘damn this room is messy, we’ve got to fix it’ type problem scenes), and forces players to engage with each other.
Risk is that a scene might not have some hilarious high concept comedic idea driving it and this approach *could* in the wrong hands lead to arguments, but I do find ‘talk to each other about each other’ scenes are rarely boring

Thanks Brian. It's going to be a long period of campaiging in a marginal ward, so lots of fingers are crossed!
Oh and Louis and Rick were hilarious cowboys weren't they!??
Good for you! I think having a skilled improviser on City Council would be a tremendous gift to the community. Best wishes for your success.
Thank you Joy! Fingers crossed.

Yeah, that's a proper good one. I'm way more likely to care about the people if I know something about them!!!
